The race that started it all — and India's first finish of an ultra longer than 400 miles.
I became the first Indian to successfully complete any ultra race in India of a distance longer than 400 miles. I achieved this feat by winning the first edition of The Ultra Spice Race (1,000 km) in January 2017.
As a result I qualified for RAAM, which is regarded as the toughest cycling race in the world. As a first-timer the road was unknown — as a team we had no experience of the multi-faceted strategies an ultra race demands, but the leap worked wonders. I was also featured in Crank with Procycle sports magazine for the same.
